Goodbye, Mema...

Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? I Cor. 15:54-55

The dawn...was radiant in the sky...As the light had grown stronger, she had grown weaker. Perhaps she was taken up into the light...her breathing slowed...There were no more...

As I stood there...I was suddenly swept with a tide of absolute knowing that Davy still was...I knew quite overwhelmingly that she herself -- her soul -- still was.

Mother of 6, grandmother of 24, her life truly centered around her family. Tough yet vulnerable in death as in life, she labors no longer in the pangs of death but has been birthed into a new life. Mema, dear mother-in-law, we miss you terribly, but may we carry on your legacy, for which words are not adequate to thank you.

Amen. Emily is at peace. May your family also know Christ's peace in the midst of your grief.

My sympathies with you and your family- and yet it is a very happy comfort to know that a rich legacy was left and a rich reward awaits.

What a beautiful and fitting thought you quoted.

A beautiful goodbye.

May the One who will wipe away all our tears grant you His comfort and peace.
