Real leadership

Another slam-dunk from John at Blogotional. Other than to commend the words about fixing a relationship, church, or other group by first fixing oneself, I can’t really pull a representative quote from it; so please just go read it. I’ll wait :-).

Oh OK, just one quote:

I know there are many lay leaders out there with agendas and issues from hell. My suggestion, ignore them. But don't punish the ones that are trying just because they make you a bit uncomfortable, just because they challenge and stretch and question.

Now go.

OK, welcome back. I think that what John points out is applicable to any human relationship. The reciprocity of submission, respect, and honor can apply to a business relationship, a friendship, a marriage, a family. Yes, the “pushback” will inevitably occur, but persevering through this will reap great reward, hopefully earthly but definitely heavenly.

Vive le challenge, stretching, and questioning!

Comments

I read John's post in its entirety. He makes some good points, esp. the "our" church vs. the "my" or "mine" mentality. Well worth the read and some further thought. Thanks for sharing.
