Intellectuelle

Intellectuelle exists as a forum for all who wish to discuss matters of thought as related to faith in Jesus Christ. Years ago, C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkein, and other friends gathered to discuss imaginative literature and ideas in a group called the Inklings. The Inklings "was neither a club nor a literary society, though it partook of the nature of both. There were no rules, officers, agendas, or formal elections." (W. H. Lewis)

Intellectuelle aims to be this sort of group. It offers opportunity for women to post and all readers -- women and men, Christian believers or other -- to participate in discussion via comments. We seek to facilitate high-quality analysis that cuts through stereotype, trend, and cliche. An ecumenical group of orthodox believers, our membership represents various Protestant and evangelical denominations as well as the Roman Catholic Church.

The Nuts and Bolts


The following are guidelines for participation:
• Commitment to post at least once every two weeks.


• Quality posting. Emphasis is on ideas.


• Posts may be exploratory, inquisitive, or positional, serious or humorous, but always thought-provoking. And always gracious.


• No requirement for post length. Posts may range from pithy quote to essay.


• Linkage is encouraged but not required.


• Please give proper attribution of material quoted or referred to.


• Double-posting (posting the same material both at Intellectuelle and another blog or site) is acceptable.


• Login and posting information will be given upon acceptance as a contributor.
