I'm resigning from Intellectuelle for a few reasons.
1) I'm pregnant, and sick. It's hard to be intellectual when your brain is in your stomach.
2) Really, even the best of my writing is not intellectual. I love discussions, debates and lectures of an intellectual nature, but that does not translate into being that kind of writer. I want to move aside and make room for some more scholarly ladies to move in.
3) I have a lot of work that needs doing on my own character, and continuing to write for Intellectuelle would hinder that. I need to finally learn that I find my worth in Christ, and not in the number of comments I receive on a blog entry, or in producing art or zines, or (insert your worldly identity marker here). No, I'm not giving up zines, art and my other blog also, but I don't have an assigned day for those!
There is also much I need to learn in the way of contentment in my primary role of wife and mother, and stressing about whether I can scrounge something thoughtful out of my brain once a week is not helpful in that.
I hope that Intellectuelle will continue and prosper. Blessings upon all those who read and write here. May your thoughts and words always bring glory to God.
