Congrats on getting all those answered. Quite a life in 24 years.
I didn't know you were homeschooled. I always like to hear from the people on the other end of it....grups who are done and kids who were homeschooled.
Agree with you on the Pet Peeve. Do naps count as wasting time? :) (That may be one of those before/after baby answers.)
Fun! I'm glad you answered these. I love getting to know you a little better.
I've been wanting to read the Shusako Endo book. It's going on the wishlist now. Thanks!
Hannah,
It was neat to read all of your answers. I didn't realize we were so close in age. As Lexie pointed out, you have certainly had "quite a life" in 24 years!
peace,
Christie
Phew! That is a lot of questions -- thanks for the 411 on you. :)
I visited Seoul about 4 years ago and was fascinated by the city. I was there for work, so I didn't get to see much beyond the area near the office. I did have a traditional meal. There is actually a place (probably more than one) here in Houston that has authentic Korean food. I also bought a whole bunch of cell phone charms to bring back to the states for all of my friends. I love them and still have a few left!
Is this a meme? How cool! Don't you hate older women who say that:) Anyway, interesting stuff. I see the difference in intp(me) and intj(you):
we are both " Trying to perfect everything beyond all reason" but I love to waste time and eat raw tomatoes (but always with salt-plenty of salt)
That was so fun to read all your info. I love those kind of 'little' lists. I think you learn so much about a person. Thank you for sharing! I relate to you on several of them!
Lexie--I no longer consider taking naps to be such a waste of time but I try to limit them because if I don't, I end up staying up half the night!
Sparrow--I hope you do read it. It is fantastic. I also want to read some of Endo's other works, such as "Silence."
Christie G.--I thought we were pretty close in age but I wasn't quite sure.
Laurie--I love Korean food, especially the non-meaty dishes. My mother-in-law bought me some cell phone charms but I can't use them. Buggy Boy can't resist yanking them off whenever he sees our cell phone.
Ilona--Believe me, I am extremely insensitive to people's use of language unless it is really extreme. Maybe that is because I am currently surrounded by all varieties of English--Konglish, South African English, Canadian etc. Anyway, I would love it if you meme'd this!
Annie--I would enjoy getting to know you more someday!
Hannah, this was a fun read--as I suspected, we definitely have a lot in common in spite of my F and your T. Thanks for inspiring me to get started on mine. I'm looking forward to the rest of the Ls posting these. We better do it before people meme this or it won't seem very original, even though we did steal the structure from two other blogs whose identities we shall never reveal ;)
...oh, and it's interesting how you, Laura and me all love The Brothers Karamazov--our blog seems to be themed by Lewis and Dostoevsky. Odd that I'm half British (Scottish even) and half Russian and those are the nationalities of my favorite writers. Russian-Jewish actually so that's probably why I love the Bible ;) Now you (and the other Ls) have to share your ancestral heritage, since that's something we forgot to put in the questionnaire.
Marla, I find that I get along best with INFJs such as yourself. A disproportionate number of my friends--especially recently--are INFJs. I have known several other female INTJs. We were amiable but never close. I think I need a "F" to balance my "T." Two INJs are probably not motivated to "waste time" getting to know each other.
I thought about including my ancestral heritage after I posted. Should I add it? I'm 1/4 Mexican, probably about 1/4 German and English, and the other half is Swedish, Scottish, Irish, Dutch, and Welch.
Should have a Dostoevsky themed week here someday? Hey,we could be an Dostoevsky-themed blog, in fact! I could be Ivan because he seems to fit my skeptical personality. You could be, hmm, the noble and sensitive Aloysha. Lexie could be the redemptive and tragic Sophie (but maybe she wouldn't like that association). But who would be Dmitri? Okay, maybe it's too corny.
Wow, Hannah, that is such a cool idea. Of course I'm partial to it because you picked the character for me that I most identify with :) Samantha is the closest to Dmitri (the passionate one) I think (hope she doesn't mind me analyzing her this way), but I have a feeling that apart from her and Lexie, the rest of us are Ivans and Alyoshas. I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but that mean that the rest of the team would have had to have read the book and that's somewhat unlikely. But I really like the idea of a literature theme...
I think you should add the ethnic info, but if you wanted, you could abbreviate it by saying 1/4 Mexican - 1/4 British - 1/4 Nordic, if it works out that way.
I agree about the personality types balancing each other--probably why hubby is an ENFP (though he keeps claiming to be a J, I know better). But our NF, especially the F, get us into trouble sometimes. I always am drawn to and admire INTJs (probably also because Lewis was one) but have found them hard to get to know so I'm excited about getting to know you :)
Ah, this was fun to read. Nice occupation. ;) I definitely share the pet peeve and the two aversions. Ew.
A Dostoevsky blog would rock...I'd need to re-read TBK to decide who to be, though. It's been too long...
From Moody to Dallas...ever consider TEDS? :) Its so good to get to know more about you. I'm impressed with your ability to answer these questions....I don't think I know myself nearly as well as I know you!
Maybe a literature themed blog? And definitely a Dostoevsky week or day or something. I need to re-read my Dostoevsky, especially The Brothers Karamazov. Right now Eldest Daughter is trying to get me to read The Idiot. So I guess that will be first. So many books, so little time.
