#280 App Update -- The only thing better than finding an application like LibraryThing (YSR #201) is finding they've added improvements. Though still in beta, LibraryThing has recently rolled out an Amazon Bookmarklet which allows you to add to your library while browsing Amazon. There is also a blog widget that you can paste into your blog and show your visitors what you're reading now, random books from your collection, etc. Fellow World magazine blogger Matthew Eppinette has an example of the widget on 2BHuman. (Scroll down to the recommended reading section on the right sidebar.) You can control the styles with your own CSS and even have the links automatically forwarded to your Amazon Associate account.
#281 Online App -- Meet With Approval is a simple and free online application that provides a way to arrange meeting or events. Fill out the form on their website which creates a meeting page. Your friends or colleagues are notified of the event by email and when they visit the meeting page they can help decide on a date. When everyone is satisfied with the choice, 'Meet With Approval' sends out a confirmation.
#282 Google School -- Getting an incoming call from an Area Code you don't recognize? Type the three numbers (i.e., 817) into Google and it will provide a map of that Area Code at the very top as well as the area that it covers. (HT: LifeHacker)
#283 Know Your Fallacies -- Equivocation - The same word is used with two different meanings. (Example: "Criminal actions are illegal, and all murder trials are criminal actions, thus all murder trials are illegal." (Here the term "criminal actions" is used with two different meanings.)
#284 Blog Hack -- Need a free space to blog? Wordpress.com now offers a free hosting service similar to Blogspot. But instead of using the rather limited Blogger publishing software you'll be able to use the far superiour Wordpress platform.
#285 HowTo -- Find Podsafe Music
#286 IPod Hack -- If Santa brings you one of the new video-capable IPods for Christmas, don't rush out to buy the overpriced priced "proprietary" Apple video cable. Erica Sadun shows you how to connect your video iPod directly to a TV using an ordinary camcorder A/V-to-RCA cable (Hint: Plug the red RCA plug into your TV's yellow RCA jack, the yellow into the white, and the white into the red.) Joe,
I really appreciate your tech updates. In this incredibly busy world it is becoming more and more difficult to keep up. You are making it easier.
Thank you.

Joe,
I, too, appreciate your tech updates. Moreover, I am thankful this Thanksgiving that you have turned me on to the study of logic and fallacies, of which I have no other formal training. I'd like to read a book or two on this subject. Which would you recommend for a fledgeling blogger and would be apologist?
Also, the link on "Equivocation" points to the recently featured "Strawman" page. Might want to change that one. I know, life in a hurry... I had the same problem with a misnomer on Charlie Lehardy in my GBC post at A Ready Defense. Fortunately, Mark Daniels sorted it out for me.
Thanks again for YSR and EO.
Grace and peace.
