Interesting numbers, even Kevin’s.
It will be a hard road for several more years.

Yeah, I read 60-something myself, at Hugh's.
It's bound to fluctuate, though.
We'll see after-action.

I originally had 72% but Glenn Reynolds returned an email I sent him and told me that a source at the State Department says the number is probably more in the 60+ range.

Yeap the election went better than I feared. Now would be a good time to start setting further benchmarks for US reduction of forces, and think about getting our men and women the heck out of there ASAP.

Kudos on the statistics, real and "conjured". I too wish to see our forces home as soon as possible, however I agree entirely with the President's comment in this regard at the SOTUA.
To set an artificial timetable for extraction would give the terrorists something to hope for and hang onto, and one more reason to keep trying. We will go when the Iraqi government asks us to.
Until then, like it or not, it is our responsibility to stop the terrorists from their last gasp attempts to prevent the freed citizenry from making of their nation what they wish. I say this as a 21 year military veteran, not some supposed "chicken-hawk". Now let's just secure our borders here properly.
