First, let me say thank you to my local radio station KSKY-AM 660 for finally bringing Hugh Hewitt and other esteemed radio personalities (Dennis Prager, Michael Medved, Bill Bennett) to the DFW area. For far too long, talk radio in our area has had a dearth of intelligent commentators. KSKY has now become my favorite local station and I will be doing everything I can to ensure that our community provides it with the ratings it deserves.
That being said, I have a quarrel to pick with KSKY: First, splitting Hughs show in two, with the first hour on from 5-6 p.m. and the last two from 9-11 p.m., is a huge mistake. Weve been waiting for the show to come to the area for a long time and deserve to hear it uninterrupted. Second, sandwiching Michael Savage in between (from 6-9 p.m.) is disgraceful. His vitriolic ranting just doesnt fit in with such a respectable lineup. But when you take into account that Savage is already on another station at the exact same time, the decision is simply inexplicable.
Any readers from this area should call or email general manager Pete Thompson (myopinion@ksky.com / 214-561-9674) and let him know that we want all three hours of the Hugh Hewitt show.
Now, I have to get back to listening to the show. Maybe now Ill get to call in sometime

I don't understand why there is not a huge conservative backlash against Mike Savage. I have written my local station several times that he makes all their other hosts look bad. I let them know that I switch stations when he comes on.
I would like to hear from somebody, why do they listen to Savage? Lileks described him as the radio show for people who have given up.
Hopefully for you, Northern Alliance Radio will have its internet feed soon. I am really surprised how polished that show is after only three . Only Mitch Berg has any real radio experience, but they have Al Franken beat on technique alone.

Joe,
Glad you've got the Hugh experience to look forward to down in DeepInnaHeartAh territory. I can't believe it's taken so long! I'm biased in favor of Hugh because he links to my blog, of course, but that's beside the point. He's a great host, and his coverage of the blogosphere far outstrips that of any other host I've ever heard.
I'm unable to get the show in my office (cursed early '60s construction - concrete everywhere...plus, my office is right next door to the room that acted as the SCIF for our research institute. VERY solid. Lotsa steel.), so as a consequence, I listen online via KRLA's (Los Angeles) streaming audio services. Their lineup is impressive. Laura Ingraham (a new favorite of mine) from 7:00am to 10:00am (all times are listed in Mountain Standard Time. I'm Colorado. Deal with it), the terrific Dennis Prager from 10:00 to 1:00, followed by Michael Medved, who's on the air until 4:00, when the aforementioned Mr. Hewitt makes his appearance. The streams are of high quality, and it's a great way to hear your favorite shows without interruption.

We're working on the streaming for the Northern Alliance show. It should be up and running in the next sixty days.
I also listen to Hugh on-line at work, but you should know that Savage now comes on in place of Hugh in the third hour on KRLA.

I listened to Hugh Hewitt for over a year on my commute home from work (2 hour commute one way) until I moved to Birmingham Alabama where I can't hear him anymore.
Hugh was what turned me onto Blogs, and I noticed his link to you the other day on his blog so decided to check it out. I am very impressed and look forward to reading more of your writings.

Hugh Hewitt is a blessing to listen to, and his books also worth the read. Savage is a mindless barbarian in comparison and it is yet another evidence of the collapse of civilization that anyone would waste their time listening to his nonsense.
The KRLA streaming audio is down and I cannot get my Linux-based PC to play the feeds from KCBQ and KTKZ.
I am also in a radio-proof inner office -- no Hugh in the evening for a while. Sigh.
