The Real Danger of the Emergent Church

After Rev. Mike forwarded me the following quote my only thought was, “This movement has to be stopped!”:

The danger is that the emerging church is a re-run of evangelicalism, but with powerpoint.

Forget postmodernism, the emergent church may be infecting us with a real evil.

LOL

But how do you fit PowerPoint in with liturgy?

How do you have a non-contentful religion with PowerPoint? Images only like a Willow Creek spokeswoman said last year?

Hi. I seem to be getting a lot of links from this www, and I note you have quoted something I wrote.

Glad you find my rants of interest and thanks for the traffic. I am struggling to get my head around where you're post is coming from and who exactly is evil? I'm not sure whether I am being applauded or demonised. Some clarity would help.

By the way, the www you are sending people is slightly wrong - you have a colon at the end, which should be deleted if you want to point people to the exact post - rather than the whole month. http://www.graceway.org.nz/archives/2003_10_01_index.php#106616769981029093

Someone once asked a member of our church whether she went to a "karaoke church".

I'm not sure I see the moral difference between hymn books and powerpoint text, but maybe it's just me.
