The last day of each year has always been a second "Thanksgiving Day" for me. I try to remember all I've had to be thankful for over the past year and in 2003 a lot of that gratitude goes to bloggers:
To say that this blog would not exist without Hugh Hewitt is an understatement. Not only did his book inspire me to start a weblog but he was instrumental in helping me gain an audience. The second day(!) that I started he mentioned me on his site and he's been generous ever since. The boys at Powerline said it best: "We have never in any event met anybody quite like Hugh. He is an extraordinarily gifted and accomplished man who seeks to use his success to benefit others."
It says a lot about Hugh's character that he goes out of his way to help those who cannot possibly help to advance him in any way. To my mind he is the epitome of "servant leadership."
Professor Bainbridge -- The best thing about blogging is the people you meet. If you had told me last year that I would spend a significant part of my year enthralled by the opinions of a Catholic law professor in California who writes on topics such as "corporate governance" I would have thought you were insane. Not only did that happen but I have had the honor of developing a blogging friendship with Steve. We started our blogs around the same time and seeing his blog develop into one of the most noted on the blogosphere has been an inspiration and a pleasure.
The Hewitt Inspired Class of Sep/Oct. 03-- Eric from Nuts and Dolts, Rusty from New Covenant, and Sean from The Vatican of Liberalism all joined me in starting a blog around the same time. These guys have always been very supportive and are some of my daily reads. If they're not yours they probably should be.
My Mentors -- King of Fools, Exultate Justi, Broken Masterpieces, joyful christian, Walloworld, Sophorist, and Patriot Paradox all gave me a hand and helped give me a boost in my "early days" (well, three months ago seems like a long time). They are great guys and I really owe them.
To everyone at Blogs4God for inviting me to be a part of the team. It's a true honor.
Thanks to Darren from LivingRoom and Bene from Bene Diction Blogs On for reminding me that the blogosphere extends beyond the borders of the U.S.
A shout out to the boys at Fraters Libertas and Infinite Monkeys. Both excellent blogs that I really begun to appreciate.
Whew there are simply too many people who I'd like to express my appreciation. But before this turns into an Oscar's speech I'll just rundown the list of people I want to get to know better in 04.
angelweave, The American Mind, Anti-Climacus, Army of One, Ben Domenech, The Billy Goat Blog, Certus Veritas, Christ at Work, Christ Web , Clarity Amidst Chaos, Damascus Road, Earthly Passions, exvigilare, IreneQ, Josh Claybourn, Journey's with Tim, Le Sabot Post-Moderne, Matthew Stinson, Pete's Journal, Power Line, The Politburo Diktat, Spitbull, Tim Berglund, Totem to Temple True Pravda, Trying to Grok, Wheat and Chaff, Wizbang, and Vigilance Matters.
I appreciate all of you and hope you have a great New Year!

Hey JP -
You certainly didn't need much, if any help. :)

JP,
Thanks for all the good work. Your blog is always engaging, unabashedly evangelical, and splendidly thorough. I'm looking forward to more of the same in 2004! Blessings to you and your family in the new year.

Joe,
Your writing is tremendous, and, if your regular posts are any indication (and I have to believe that they are), so is your character. Such a combination makes for a great blog. Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks for contributing so substantially to "the good fight," Joe. Your blog has quickly become regular reading.
Thanks also for posting through the holidays, and continuing to check in on us Monkeys. I'm sure we'll be posting more regularly again as soon as the festive season draws to a close.
