The Christmas holiday has prevented me from being fully productive this past week. I've been lucky to squeeze out one post a day and, unfortunately, my marital duties will keep me busy until the end of the weekend. Fortunately, full-scale blogging will resume on Monday. Until then, check out these links
What's Hot, What's Not Monotheism? Capitalism? Beauty? That's soooo five minutes ago. What's should get more attention is Hip-Hop politics, legacy admissions, and the link between money and happiness. At least that's what the New York Times seems to believe. (Then again, they did put this article on "Ideas" in the Arts section so maybe they don't take it too seriously either.)
Blogging Toward Obscurity Jim from Army of One has an amusing post on How to have an Obscure Blog that Almost Nobody Reads. Um, thanks Jim but I've got that covered already.
Redheaded Rusty Be sure to visit my boy Rusty's blog New Covenant. Do it because he always has interesting content. Do it because he's a smart evangelical blogger with a unique perspective. But most of all, do it because Rusty has posted an old photo of himself with the best gentile jewfro you'll ever see on a redhead.
Notable Quotables Ben Domenech has an incredibly comprehensive list of quotes from 2003. Ted from Crooked Timber also scoured the Internet to bring us some of the funniest non-political quotes you're likely to find anywhere.
Analogy of the Week Discoshaman comparing Howard Dean to Henry IV.
More Questions Chris from Just Thinking seems to have gained a valuable perspective from his seminary experience: "I walked into the hallways first during the Fall of 2000, excited to learn everything about the bible, get the answers to any question that someone may ask, or even answer some of the questions I had. I walked into seminary looking for answers. However, now that I am walking, it really isn't answers I have, but more questions. Some may think that having more questions is a problem because seminarians are supposed to know the answers. Well, that isn't me. I have learned that the bible is way too complex and God is way to big for me to answer everything. In fact, maybe it isn't even answers that anyone should look for. Maybe learning is really about learning what questions are worth asking. "
Worth Checking Out Here are some new blogs this week that deserve your attention:
Christian author, professor and friend of Hugh, Dr. Mark Roberts has started a blog. (Yes, I know. The last thing we need is another Harvard educated blogger. But give him a chance anyway.) He's already moved onto my must-read list.
Eric from Self-Composed has started a new blog. He's still working out the kinks on the layout but he's already hit the ground running.
Anti-Climacus isn't a new blog but it is highly underrated. Troester describes himself as "Your typical deontologist Christian quasi-Trotskyist Third Way Democrat." And really, can you have too many guys like that on your blogroll? Of course not.

Thanks for the mention! BTW, you might want to check out this TNR analysis of both Dean's religion and the influence of religion in politics in general:
