These are the answers to various inquires I've received since starting this blog. (This page is updated as new queries are answered):

  • After nearly graduating with a degree in psychology, I came to my senses and ended up with a B.S. in Liberal Studies.
  • I was born in Eastland, TX.
  • I joined the Marine Corps in 1988 and served sixteen years before leaving in March 2005.
  • I'm the Director of Web Communications for Family Research Council.
  • Prior to working for FRC, I was the Director of Communications for The Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity.
  • I was the co-owner and managing editor of a small regional newspaper, The East Texas Tribune.
  • I'm married to Misty, a beautiful, talented, intelligent, woman who somehow manages to put up with my peculiar quirks.
  • I studied Forensic Sciences in graduate school before it dawned on me that I could save the cost of tuition and just watch CSI.
  • I used to be a bullrider. A very, very bad one.
  • During the first Gulf War, Bush was President, I was stuck at an air station training reservists and didn't get to go to Iraq.
  • During the second Gulf War, another Bush was President, I was stuck at another air station training reservists and, once again, didn't get to go to Iraq. I'm still bitter about that.
  • My favorite short story is "Parker's Back" by Flannery O'Connor.
  • I have one child, a beautiful, artistically talented, and incredibly smart daughter named Samantha.
  • I've been divorced. It's a weird (but fairly amusing) story.
  • I started blogging after reading a book by Hugh Hewitt.
  • Althought I'm a native Texan, I currently live in Virginia.
  • I'm a Reformed protestant evangelical, though I have a soft spot for Catholics.
  • My favorite President is John Adams.
  • My favorite novel is Cormac McCarthy's All The Pretty Horses.
  • I've lived in over in 33 different cities in 8 states and 2 continents.
  • My favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys.
  • My favorite hobby is napping.
  • I spend far too much time blogging. On average, about 25 hours a week.
  • I'm spent a year as the managing editor of World Views, the official blog of World magazine.
